  5.     Welcome to the new release of Operation: Overkill ][, version .998!

  7.     With a year on the update, I hope you enjoy the new modifications
  8.     and bug fixes made to the game.  A "what's new" file is included
  9.     with the package, however, since we've made so many new changes
  10.     to the game, we couldn't keep track of 150+ modifications!   I
  11.     feel that the best way to "rediscover" the game is to just go in
  12.     and relearn it with all the new twists and features.  I'm sure you
  13.     and your players will enjoy the game twice as much as before!

  15.     Please be sure to read the OOII Tournament information (OOIITOUR.ZIP)
  16.     to get involved Overkill's own low-cost *national* tournament.  If
  17.     you are hunting for the best competition, get involved in this new
  18.     and incredible new feature of OOII!

  20.     On a side note, this release of OOII is unfortunately not compatible
  21.     with past versions of the game.  If you currently run a previous
  22.     version, it is best suggested to back up your OOCONFIG.DAT file to
  23.     disk and start totally fresh with this new .998 version.  Simply
  24.     overwriting old .997 files can cause conflict in setting up this
  25.     new version, so a clean start is suggested for perfect results!

  27.     We've bug-tested the alpha version of Operation: Overkill since the
  28.     spring, and with six months of testing under the belt, I hope that
  29.     you encounter no bugs of any kind!  Of course, large programs are
  30.     extremely difficult to insure it as 100% bug-proof.  I hope any bugs
  31.     that you may find will be minimal and have no effect on the overall
  32.     game play of Operation: Overkill.

  34.     Once again, enjoy OOII to its fullest and I hope you find this
  35.     original game more genuine and flawless than other clones that
  36.     have sparked from the basis of Operation: Overkill.  Good luck,
